Cancelling a campaign
How to cancel a campaign and what happens to existing promises.
If you need to cancel an active campaign, you can do so from your dashboard.
How to cancel
- Go to your campaign detail page.
- Click the Cancel button.
- Confirm the cancellation.
What happens when you cancel
- The campaign status changes to cancelled.
- All active promises are cancelled.
- All saved payment methods are released — no cards are charged.
- The public event page is no longer accessible.
Notifications
When you cancel a campaign, patrons are notified by email that the event has been cancelled and their card will not be charged.
Warning
Cancelling a campaign cannot be undone. All promises are permanently cancelled. If you want to run the event later, you'll need to create a new campaign.
When to cancel
Consider cancelling if:
- The event is no longer viable for reasons other than ticket demand.
- You need to change fundamental details (price, dates, threshold) that can't be edited after publishing.
- External circumstances prevent the event from happening.
If the campaign simply hasn't reached its threshold yet and the deadline hasn't passed, you may want to wait and promote more aggressively before cancelling.
