Cancelling a promise
How to cancel a ticket promise before the event is confirmed.
You can cancel your promise at any time before the campaign is converted (before cards are charged).
How to cancel
To cancel a promise, you'll need your promise ID and the email address you used when making the promise. The cancellation is processed through the Promise Tickets system.
What happens when you cancel
- Your saved payment card is immediately detached from Stripe. It can no longer be charged.
- Your promise status changes to cancelled.
- The ticket count for the performance is decreased by your quantity.
- You receive a cancellation confirmation email.
Important timing
Warning
You can only cancel a promise while the campaign is still active — that is, before the producer converts the campaign. Once conversion begins and cards are charged, cancellation is no longer possible.
After cancellation
- Your card will not be charged for this event.
- The cancellation is permanent — you cannot "un-cancel" a promise.
- If you change your mind, you can make a new promise for the same event (subject to capacity).
Effect on the campaign
When you cancel, the campaign's total promise count decreases. If the campaign was at or near its threshold, your cancellation may bring it below the threshold again.
