What is Promise Tickets?

Promise Tickets lets producers collect real ticket commitments from their audience before committing to an event. Cards are saved but never charged unless the event happens.

The problem we solve

Producing live events is risky. You book a venue, hire staff, and promote the show — all before you know whether anyone will show up. If ticket sales fall short, you lose money. If you play it safe and book a smaller room, you might leave demand on the table.

Promise Tickets flips this model. Instead of selling tickets and hoping for the best, you collect promises first. Each promise is a real commitment backed by a saved payment card. Once enough people commit, you convert the campaign and all cards are charged at once.

How it works at a glance

  • Producers create a campaign with a ticket price, performance dates, and a minimum ticket threshold.
  • Patrons promise to attend by saving their card through Stripe. They are not charged immediately.
  • When the threshold is reached, the producer converts the campaign. All saved cards are charged and tickets are issued.
  • If the threshold is never reached by the deadline, the campaign expires and no one is charged.

  • Zero risk for patrons. Your card is never charged unless the event actually happens.
  • Zero risk for producers. You never commit capital until you know the audience is there.
  • Transparent pricing. Producers keep 100% of the ticket face value. A small platform fee is added on top and paid by the patron.
  • Secure payments. All payment information is handled by Stripe. Promise Tickets never stores card numbers.
