Stripe onboarding issues

Troubleshooting problems with connecting your Stripe account.

If you're having trouble connecting your Stripe account, here are the most common issues and solutions.

"Action required" status

This means Stripe needs additional information from you. Common requests include:

  • Identity verification — upload a government-issued photo ID.
  • Business information — provide your business registration number or EIN.
  • Bank account verification — confirm your bank account details.

Solution: Click the button on your Settings page to return to Stripe's onboarding form and provide the requested information.

"Incomplete" status

This means you started the onboarding process but didn't finish it.

Solution: Click Finish Stripe setup on your Settings page to return to where you left off.

"Pending review" status

This means Stripe is verifying your submitted information. This typically takes 1-2 business days.

Solution: Wait for Stripe to complete their review. You'll receive an email from Stripe when the review is complete. You can check your status anytime on the Settings page.

Onboarding link expired

If you started onboarding but didn't finish within the session, the link may have expired.

Solution: Go to your Settings page and click the connect/finish button again to generate a new onboarding link.

Already have a Stripe account

If you already have a Stripe account with the same email, the onboarding process will recognize it and link it to Promise Tickets.

If you want to use a different Stripe account, make sure you're logged into the correct Stripe account in your browser before starting the onboarding process.

Warning

You must have a "Connected" Stripe status before you can convert a campaign. Plan to complete Stripe onboarding well before your campaign reaches its threshold.
